Zoya Akhtar shares stage with Andrew Garfield, Jacob Elordi at Marrakech Film Festival, fans say, ‘What in the multiverse of madness is this?’ | Bollywood News

Director Zoya Akhtar recently surprised the internet after she appeared as a jury member at the Marrakech Film Festival. Fans were excited to see the Gully Boy director share the stage with Hollywood biggies Jacob Elordi and Andrew Garfield. Other esteemed members of the jury this year are Luca Guadagnino, Ali Abbasi, Patricia Arquette, Virginie Efira, Nadia Kounda, and Santiago Mitre. They all gathered together for the opening ceremony of the Marrakech Film Festival.

Photos and videos of the event have surfaced online, attracting various reactions from fans. In one of the many videos being shared online, The Kissing Booth star Jacob Elordi could be seen tapping Zoya Akhtar’s knees. A fan shared the video and wrote, “Not Zoya Akhtar having Jacob Elordi tap her knees what timeline am I living in?”

 

Another surprised fan commented, “Zoya Akhtar, Andrew, Jacob?? What in the multiverse of madness is this?” Another person shared, “Zoya Akhtar is living my dream.”

 

 

Introducing Zoya Akhtar as their jury member, Marrakech Festival’s official website wrote, “Zoya Akhtar’s work has earned her an Emmy Award nomination, a NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film, world premieres at both the Festival de Cannes and the Berlinale, and India’s official entry to the Academy Awards.”

The website also highlighted her work as a producer in projects like Made in Heaven (2019), Dahaad (2023), and Angry Young Men (2024).
