Case against BJP leaders for disfiguring public places

The High Grounds police have registered a case against BJP leaders for allegedly disfiguring public places and creating a nuisance during a protest against Minister Priyank Kharge demanding his resignation, at Mourya Circle on Tuesday.

Based on a complaint by Shashidhar Vannura, sub-inspector, High Grounds police station, the police charged Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, and C.T. Ravi , MLC, among 12 others charging them under the Karnataka Open Place Disfigurement Act, obstructing public way and creating nuisance.

The police have also detained those who staged a protest at the Mourya Circle and pasted posters at public places against Mr. Kharge in the case of the death of a Bidar contractor.

The protesters also shouted slogans against the Congress and demanded the resignation of Mr. Kharge.

The police detained the protesters for violating the rules of staging protest at public places without permission.
